Three-time Oscar-winner Jack Nicholson is like a fine wine, he keeps getting better with age. He won his first Oscar in 1975 for his role as Randall P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He didn't win anything for 1980's The Shining, although many would say that was one of his most memorable performances.
In 1980 he won his second Oscar for his supporting role in Terms of Endearment. In 1989 he garnered more popular attention for his creepy portrayal of The Joker in Batman. Despite being over 60 years old Nicholson had plenty of acting chops still in him. In 1999 he won his third Oscar for his role as the neurotic Melvin Udall in As Good As it Gets.
In The Departed Jack is back as southie crime boss Frank Costello. This is the first time Nicholson has starred in a Martin Scorsese film.
Nicholson was born in Neptune, New Jersey and for most of life thought his grandmother was his mother and that his mother was his older sister. It wasn't revealed to him until years later when a Time magazine researcher discovered the truth while researching a story.
